There are many things to do and see in Mazatlán. “The Pearl of the Pacific,” a nickname referring to the splendor and beauty of this great city, has more than 15 miles of beaches for fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing and more. The streets are lined with spectacular architecture and filled with hidden treasures---great for sightseeing, shopping and entertainment.

Adventures

This booming resort town is rapidly expanding along the coast of the Mexican state of Sinaloa. As a major commercial fishing port it boasts Mexico's largest shrimp fleet and superlative sports-fishing. Mazatlán, "The Pacific Pearl", has a life of its own, with an old town atmosphere sitting by a headland which firmly separates harbor and tourist activities. Its position due east of the southern tip of Baja California, at the confluence of the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean, endows it with warm waters, a constantly balmy climate and abundant year-round shoals of marlin and sailfish.

Mazatlán has lots of activities to offer, such as water sports, golfing, tennis, shopping, great walking zone at the “Malecon” (boardwalk) and much more. Mazatlán is also known worldwide for its great dove, duck and quail hunting.

Downtown Shopping

Central Market—Mercado
This is not to be missed! It is located between B. Juárez and Aquiles Serdán streets, and Melchor Ocampo and Leandro Valle. You'll find the market surrounded by a variety of small shops, food vendors and juice bars where you can enjoy fresh fruit and vegetable juices and iced Agua Frescas.

Inside, the market is divided in sections by food types. You'll find fresh seafood, chickens, beef, pork, fresh fruits and veggies. The dairy vendors are scattered around the market. Also, T-shirts, blankets, and every imaginable Mazatlán souvenir can be purchased here. This is all in walking distance from the Old Mazatlan Inn.

Surrounding the Mercado you will find reasonably priced shopping---clothing and shoe stores--- for several blocks long. The best shops seem to be along Serdán.
